For those with a sweet tooth, here is a recipe that I designed one night when I was feeling particularly tired and craving ice cream.
I have played with this recipe a few times and have found it is both delicious as a dessert and as a smoothie. For a thicker, creamier dessert I just add more cacao powder and frozen banana, and for a smoothie I simply add the almond milk. I love this recipe because it’s the kind that cures your cravings and makes you feel good. I hope you enjoy it!
The below measurements are what I use, however feel free to adjust it to your own taste.
1 medium/large frozen banana
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1 table spoon raw cacao
1/4 cup Non-Dairy yoghurt (Co Yo and Pura Veda can be found at IGA’s and most health food stores, Soy life can be found at most chain supermarkets)
1 cup almond milk when added to create the smoothie
1. Put all of the ingredients into a blender
2. Blend on medium until it has a smooth consistancy (For the smoothie, blending may need a few more seconds)
3. pour into a glass/dessert bowl and enjoy!
